Investigation of proton-proton short-range correlations via the 12C(e,e'pp) reaction.
We investigated simultaneously the 12C(e,e'p) and 12C(e,e'pp) reactions at Q2=2 (GeV/c)2, xB=1.2, and in an (e, e'p) missing-momentum range from 300 to 600 MeV/c. At these kinematics, with a missing momentum greater than the Fermi momentum of nucleons in a nucleus and far from the delta excitation, short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations are predicted to dominate the reaction. For (9.5+/-2)% o...
متن کاملLong-range multiplicity correlations in proton-proton collisions
The forward-backward long-range multiplicity correlations in proton-proton collisions are investigated in the model with two independent sources of particles: one leftand one right-moving wounded nucleon. A good agreement with the UA5 collaboration proton-antiproton data at the c.m. energy of 200 GeV is observed. For comparison the model with only one source of particles is also discussed. PACS...

Introduction: Proton therapy delivers radiation to tumor tissue in a much more confined way than conventional photon therapy thus allowing the radiation oncologist to use a greater dose while still minimizing side. Materials and Methods: protons release most of their energy within the tumor region. As a result, the treating physician can potentially give an...
متن کاملLong range forward-backward rapiditiy correlations in proton-proton collisions at LHC
We argue that string percolation is in the origin of i) an approximately flat rapidity distribution and of ii) an approximately constant forward-backward correlation parameter b over a substantial fraction of the available rapidity. Predictions are given for pp collisions at LHC, √ s = 14TeV and √ s = 5.5TeV.

A dispersive-optical-model analysis of p+40Ca and p+48Ca interactions has been carried out. The real and imaginary potentials have been constrained from fits to elastic-scattering data, reaction cross sections, and level properties of valence hole states deduced from (e, e' p) data. The surface imaginary potential was found to be larger overall and the gap in this potential on either side of th...
